FAIRFIELD, CT – June 14, 2010 – Jon Angel, President of Angel Commercial L.L.C., a Fairfield-based commercial real estate brokerage firm, announced today that Giant Steps, will be holding its grand opening celebration on June 26, 2010 at 226 Kings Highway in Fairfield, Connecticut.  After three months of extensive renovations to the 4,081 square feet of space, formally occupied by Paradise Patio, the new store will be the second retail store for owner, Howard Greenspan, who also owns Gaming Etc. in Stratford.  “The grand opening celebration will be very exciting,” reports Greenspan.  “We will have costumed characters, face painting, free giveaways, and demonstrations.”

Due to its interactive design, Giant Steps offers a unique shopping experience.  “The store will incorporate interactive elements designed to occupy a child’s imagination and challenge their developing motor skills,” explains Howard Greenspan, owner of Giant Steps.  “Children can explore a giant doll playground, build objects with Legos, fantasize with Playmobile toys, and thrill in the excitement of racing radio-controlled cars.”  Giant Steps will also include a jungle themed toddler playground and a karaoke-style stage, where kids can sing, dance, and watch themselves on a television monitor.  “We are very appreciative of our local elementary kids at North Stratfield School who helped us decorate the ceiling of the new store,” notes Greenspan.

“With frontage on two streets, a high traffic count, and neighboring national retailers that include Walgreens, Stop & Shop and Kohl’s, this is a great location for Giant Steps,” notes Angel, who was the sole broker in this transaction bringing the multi-tenanted complex to 100% occupancy.  “It’s exciting to bring a new retail store to Fairfield that will provide additional shopping and employment opportunities.”  According to Greenspan, Giant Steps will need a staff of 6-10 employees.

Giant Steps will be holding free weekly classes, activities, and events that include baby sign classes and B.Y.O.B.  (Bring Your Own Barbie) Party.  “Unlike many boutique shops, we are fortunate to bring our 10 years of internet volumes to mean mass market pricing with hometown specialty items,” states Greenspan.  “We have been fortunate to have Gaming Etc. quickly grow into a staple for the gaming community, supporting such games as Pokemon, Bakugan, Yugioh, and Magic.  Our approach is to never take anything for granted and strive to exceed our customer’s expectations.  This same approach will be the cornerstone for Giant Steps.  We want to fill the need in our community for a wonderful place to bring children to play and have fun as well as to shop.”
